Accessibility statement
Last updated — June 22, 2026
Accessibility isn’t a footnote on this site — it’s most of what I’ve spent my career on. I ran an accessibility consultancy for thirteen years and was a member of the W3C Education and Outreach Working Group from 2018 to 2023. So I’ll be straight with you about where this site stands, because pretending a site is perfectly accessible is itself a kind of failure.
The standard I’m holding this to
This site targets conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA — the standard most widely referenced in law and practice. That means, among other things: meaningful structure for screen readers, full keyboard operability, sufficient color contrast, text that resizes without breaking, alternatives for non-text content, and clear, consistent navigation.
Where things actually stand
I build and test this site to meet WCAG 2.2 AA, and I treat accessibility as an ongoing practice rather than a one-time box to check. No site is ever truly “finished” on accessibility — there’s always something to find, refine, or reconsider as content changes and standards evolve. If you hit a barrier here, that’s a real bug to me, not a minor cosmetic note, and I want to know about it.
How this site is tested
Conformance is checked through a combination of methods, because no single method is enough on its own:
- Automated testing to catch the mechanical issues tools can detect;
- Manual keyboard-only navigation;
- Screen reader testing;
- Review of color contrast, text scaling, and responsive behavior;
- Judgment about real-world usability, which is the part automated tools can’t measure.
If something doesn’t work for you
This is the most important part. If any part of this site creates a barrier — something you can’t reach, read, operate, or understand — please tell me, and I’ll work to fix it and to help you get whatever you came for in the meantime.

Please include the page address and a short description of the problem, and the browser or assistive technology you were using if you know it. I read these myself, and I respond.
Ongoing commitment
Accessibility on this site is maintained as standards advance, content is added, and feedback comes in. This statement will be updated to reflect significant changes in approach or status.
