Privacy policy
Last updated — June 22, 2026
This site, ashharris.com, is operated by Ash Harris (“I,” “me,” “my”). This policy explains what information the site collects, why, and what you can do about it. It’s written to be read, not to hide things in legalese — if anything here is unclear, the contact details at the bottom are real and I’ll answer.
The short version
I collect very little. If you fill out the contact form, I get what you put in it so I can reply. The site keeps basic technical logs, and it uses privacy-respecting analytics that only runs if you accept analytics cookies. Scheduling is handled by linking out to my booking page at nimblefish, which is operated separately under its own privacy terms. I don’t sell your data and I don’t run advertising trackers of my own. That’s most of it.
What I collect
Information you give me. When you submit the contact form, I collect the information you choose to enter — typically your name, email address, phone number, and your message. I use it solely to respond to you and to follow up on the conversation you started.
Information collected automatically. Like nearly all websites, this site is hosted on infrastructure (Vercel) that automatically records standard technical information in server logs: your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, the pages you request, and the date and time of your visit. This is used for security, troubleshooting, and keeping the site running.
Analytics (only if you accept). The site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage — which pages get read, roughly where visitors arrive from — never to build an individual profile of you. It’s off by default: a cookie-consent banner asks before any analytics cookies are set, and Google Consent Mode keeps analytics denied until you accept. Decline and no analytics cookies are set and Google Analytics doesn’t run.
Scheduling (booking a call). To book time with me, the site links out to my scheduling page at nimblefish (ahoy.nimblefish.net). That page is operated separately and has its own privacy terms; any data you enter there, and any cookies it sets, are handled under those terms once you leave this site. I don’t embed that calendar here, so it doesn’t set cookies on this site.
How your information is handled and who processes it
I keep the list of companies that touch your data short and name them plainly:
- Vercel — hosting and infrastructure; processes server-log data described above.
- Airtable — contact form submissions are stored here so I can manage and respond to them.
- Resend — delivers contact form submissions to me by email.
- Google — runs Google Analytics on this site (only after you consent), and provides the scheduling calendar on the nimblefish booking page I link to. Google processes data through those services as described above.
- CookieYes — powers the cookie-consent banner and stores your consent choice.
Each of these is a service provider or third-party service operating in connection with the site, not a party I sell or rent your information to. I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it for advertising or marketing by others.
I may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of myself, the site, or others — the standard, narrow exceptions.
Cookies
I don’t set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of my own. The site uses a cookie-consent banner (CookieYes): until you choose, analytics stays off. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics sets its own cookies to measure aggregate usage; decline and it doesn’t. The banner itself stores a small cookie remembering your choice. You can change or withdraw consent anytime through the cookie settings, and control cookies through your browser. Booking happens on a separate nimblefish page, which has its own cookies and terms once you leave this site.
How long information is kept
Contact form submissions are kept as long as needed to respond to and maintain our conversation, and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping. Server logs and any analytics data are retained only for the limited periods our providers maintain them. You can ask me to delete your information at any time (see below).
Your rights and choices
Wherever you’re located, you can ask me to:
- Access the personal information I hold about you;
- Correct information that’s inaccurate;
- Delete your information;
- Receive a copy of the information you provided, in a portable format;
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise any of these, email me at the address below and I’ll respond within a reasonable time and within any period required by applicable law. There’s no charge for a reasonable request, and I won’t treat you differently for making one.
If you’re a California resident (CCPA/CPRA): You have the rights described above, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to deletion. I do not sell or “share” (as those terms are defined under California law) your personal information, and I have not done so. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and I don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact me and I’ll delete it.
Data security
I take reasonable measures to protect the information collected through this site, and I rely on reputable providers (above) that maintain their own security practices. That said, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and I can’t guarantee absolute security.
Links to other sites
This site links to other properties, including nimblefish.net and esther.ai, and may link to third-party sites. I’m not responsible for the privacy practices of sites I don’t operate. Their policies govern your use of them.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The “last updated” date at the top will always reflect the current version. Material changes will be reflected here.
